The moon is a satellite orbiting the planet earth. It’s believed to have formed when, billions of years ago, the primordial planet Theia slammed into us.
The collision was so intense, it ripped Theia apart and liquified the earth into a molten hellscape, a fiery forge that took two planets — Theia and Gaia — and made them one.
Part of Theia went out into space to form the moon. The rest of her was buried deep inside the earth, adding to the earth’s lower mantle and core.
Theia means “goddess, godly.” And the moon is associated with the “divine feminine” in astrology. The yin to the sun’s yang. To me, the moon also represents the deep interconnection between everything. The fact that what’s out there and seems separate is actually also inside us, affecting us, and materially shaping and changing things.
Integral to the shifts and changes of the moon is the lunar cycle:
Moon Cycle Patterns
My first big “a-ha, okay, something big and real is happening here” moment with astrology came one Saturday afternoon when I unexpectedly spotted a trend in my notes. What I saw was that whenever I conducted rituals - often on a new moon - I would see results from the ritual on the full moon that fell in the same sign six months later. But it wasn’t just the ritual results that would develop, I also could see in my notes that I was seeing the same synchronicities and events on the new moon as the full moon six months later. Often it was as specific as seeing and/or speaking to the same person on the new moon as on the full moon (and never communicating with that person in between), or seeing the sequel of a movie that I had watched the first of on the new moon, or having the same works of literature mentioned, and every time, from new moon to full, the same ideas and imagery circled back around.
After first spotting hints of this trend, I spent the rest of my weekend doing an in-depth analysis of every new and full moon that had transpired over the last two plus years of my life. I keep extensive notes of all of my intuitive messages and ritual work, and through that analysis, I saw again and again that what happened on the new moon would play out again in some new way on the full moon. Often I would even receive a message or have a vision on the new moon and then whatever I saw/heard would actually come to pass six months later with the full moon.
Since first uncovering this pattern, I have seen it play out again and again over many years. On every full moon, I go back and look at my notes from six months earlier - from the new moon that fell in the same sign - and every time, there are tens of overlaps. Not just one thing repeating or two, but a waterfall.
Something very real is happening with the moon cycle. Not just in the way that it affects our oceans and our menstrual cycles, but in something else. There seems to be something about the way time and/or experience is woven that is synched with the rhythm of nature as expressed through the cycle of the moon. This is not a sham.
