SIGNS tell you how something is being expressed.
ARIES, aka fiercely & quickly
Aries is the first sign of the zodiac. It starts the story of the zodiacal wheel, and as such, is the most powerful sign for initiating new beginnings. This is echoed by its cardinal mode, which indicates that the energy of the sign is akin to the lighting of a flame. Aries gets things going.
It’s ability to start something new makes it one of the most powerful signs for working magic, but there’s also a single-minded listlessness to Aries. A foolish naïveté and short-sightedness that comes with being the baby of the wheel.
In other words, Aries will happily get something started. It will plow forward and start FIERCELY, PASSIONATELY, and at times, even violently. This impulse is so strong, it often acts without thinking and struggles to stay the course with whatever it started. The trick with Aries is not to shame its inability to think long term and nurture something’s growth, but rather, honor its gift of being the initiator.
Aries is the spark — let it spark things! Then, temper its nature with other aspects either within yourself or in other people.
Aries does best by balancing its nature through partnerships. The only trick is that like most youths, Aries energy is quick to speak without considering the consequences. It often thinks of itself before others and is quick to move on to new things. It needs partners who can handle its fiery, noncommittal, and sometimes selfish nature. As such, unless there is strong fixed energy elsewhere in the chart, any dominant Aries is likely to yield short-term partners versus long-term ones (romantic, professional, and friendly).
ARIES SEASON ≈ March 21 – April 19 (begins with the equinox, so the exact dates vary from year to year)

HOUSE IT RULES: First

TAURUS, aka safely & pleasurably
Taurus is the second sign of the zodiac. It’s renowned for bringing a slow, methodical, and seemingly stubborn attention to things, but really, Taurus is a pleasure seeker.
Ruled by Venus, the planet of giving and receiving, and embodying fixed earth energy, Taurus is highly attuned to how it interacts with the world and how it feels — physically.
It wants to feel good! That includes feeling safe. It also includes returning again and again to the things that have felt good in the past and can reliably (safely) be thought to deliver pleasure yet again.
Because of this, Taurus is loyal, steadfast, and true. Once something (or someone) is in its sphere of pleasure (aka things it likes), it’s bound to stay there for the long haul.
Taurus knows its worth. It chooses what feels good because it believes that is what it deserves. It practices self love every day — sometimes to the detriment of considering how things make other people feel or being willing to compromise its pleasure for another’s. But unlike Aries, which often comes across as selfish, Taurus is full of love. It wants you to have pleasure too! It just doesn’t necessarily want you to have to depend on it for your pleasure.
That said, Taurus is highly dependable insofar as: what you see is what you get. Its behavior will not rapidly change. It can be trusted to deliver constancy to your life and can be a very reliable breadwinner (for in our society, money helps buy that which provides safety and material delights).
While Taurus’ conservative nature can fence it into redundant routines, it’s often very happy behind the fence. If it’s happy, let it stay, for wherever it lives, Taurus is a powerful force of steady earthly love, balancing pleasure with the knowledge that in order to keep enjoying life, you must do so smartly and safely.
