The new moon arrives as the Venus retrograde cycle completes. Venus retrograde - the second rarest of retrogrades - only happens every 18 months.

I flipped back to that retrograde reading to remind myself what it was all about, and I saw the title staring back at me: On the Runway to THE RETURN OF MAGIC.

I forgot that that was the title I’d heard for this Venus cycle. I forgot all about it when I channeled the messages about magic returning during the 2022-2023 karmic cycle, and I forgot all about it when I wrote about the magic being freed in last month’s Leo full moon note. I keep forgetting, but the same message keeps coming through again and again: magic is returning.

And I wonder - if the Venus cycle had us on the runway to this great return…and if the cycle’s ending now….does that mean we are off the runway? Does that mean that now…we take off?

Now, we fly.

And now, I am cracking up. Here’s why:

When I went to pull the chart for this moon, I closed my eyes and tuned in to see all of the asteroids that wanted to be added. When I did, I saw a flower in my mind - a magnolia. I looked and found that there is an asteroid named Magnolia, but when I put it in the chart, it didn’t seem all that important…Then, just now, I returned to the Venus reading. I read this message again. The message for all of us now:

Maybe now, time itself seems to still, and in this flowering sea of something you uncover more moments and new perspectives, and you know what? I didn’t mean to type flowering there. I meant to type flowing, but flowering came, and ever since, I just keep seeing this:

You, kneeling in a field. Kneeling towards a single simple flower. Wrapping your fingers around its stem and pulling it up to smell it, to enjoy it, to take it with you.

Close your eyes now. Can you see this? This flower? What kind of flower do you see? What does it look like? How does it smell? If you can name it, go look up its symbolism, see what messages it has for you for this time in life.

And remember that life can be really simple. In the wild of uncertainty, every moment can be just like this: you leaning over, picking a wild flower, enjoying its beauty.

When I tuned in about this moon - about this day when Venus completes its cycle - I saw a magnolia flower. Magnolias have meant many things to many different people and cultures over the years. Things like joy, good fortune, purity, and dignity, but what struck me most when I researched magnolia symbolism was this: magnolias are some of the most ancient flowers on Earth.

In fact, scientists think that “the original flower resembled a modern magnolia.”

Here, you can see imagined images of The First Flower on Earth.

The primordial flower from which all other flowers came.

And as I write about this, I can’t help but think of the opening to my book Synchronicities - the book that I’ve taken to calling “my origin story” because it tells the story of the return to magic in my own life - the origin of magic in my life - and while the book is not yet available to be read in full, you’re welcome to read its introduction here, and its introduction? It just happens to be all about the mysterious evolution of flowers. An evolution that suggests (perhaps) a magical leap forward in the progression of life on Earth.

As if some beautiful magic was weaving, bringing forth the first flower.

I closed my eyes to tune in about this new moon, and I saw an ancient flower, the primordial flower.

The beginning of a great, mysterious evolution.

The origin point for a blossoming world.

Imagine what was before?

A world without flowers.

But now, now - after the blossoming of the Leo full moon - there are FLOWERS EVERYWHERE.

Close your eyes. Take yourself through the Venus exercise above. In your mind, see yourself in a field, kneeling above a flower. A single simple flower. Wrap your fingers around its stem and pull it up - smell it, enjoy it, take it with you.

What flower did you see? Can you name it or identify any specific part of it? If so, research it now.

Research its symbolism. See what speaks to you in what you find.

This new moon conjuncts the planet JUPITER. The king of the solar system, the great cosmic benefactor in the sky.

What does it mean? The word - Jupiter:

Sky

God

Father

Heaven

Shining One

Bright

Its etymology is a bit all over the place, but its story is clear: Jupiter was the king of the gods, and he was often known as Iuppiter Elicius, or “Jupiter who brings forth.”

This new moon is bringing something forth.

Something sudden.

Something unexpected.

Some great expansion akin to the mysterious arrival and spreading of flowers across the earth.

“Darwin couldn’t make sense of flowers. He called them an abominable mystery because they flew in the face of everything he believed. Namely: Natura non facit saltum. Nature does not make a leap.

But it did with flowers.

It was almost as if one day on Earth, there were no flowers, and the next, flowers were everywhere...

Darwin proposed that we simply hadn’t found their origin. That it must exist - perhaps on some not yet explored island or other land. I doubt he considered the possibility that the land wasn’t really here - at least not so clearly.

Maybe flowers came from another realm or maybe God woke one morning - hot with inspiration - made a flower and struck by its beauty, planted them everywhere in all the different shapes and sizes. Maybe this, too, is part of nature.”

- from Synchronicities

And that’s when I wondered:

Wait, so the asteroid Magnolia wasn’t exactly at some major point on March 2nd - the Pisces new moon…but where was it on February 24th? The day I sat to write this note. The day I saw it in my mind.

So I reran the chart not for March 2nd, but for six days before the new moon, and that’s when I saw:

The asteroid Magnolia, perfectly aligned with the center of the Milky Way Galaxy, zero degrees between them.

In the days leading up to this Pisces new moon, the asteroid Magnolia crossed the Galactic Center.

It passed the energy shooting out from the center of the supermassive black hole that lives there.

It looks like this:

Not all the time. The beam isn’t always shooting out of it, but when it does, it’s the most powerful relativistic jet - a stream of charged particles - in the galaxy.

And I can’t say for sure whether it was shooting out at the moment I saw the magnolia blossom, but I’ll say that I’ve thought of sharing this photo with you many times, but it didn’t feel right until now.

NOW, the golden beam of light is shooting through the primordial fabric of our universe.

What was new has become ancient. What was ancient has become new again.

The diverging waves of time creating the appearance of past and present are undulating in a sea of oneness where everything is all at once new and ancient.

And this is how we must see the world.

This is the perspective this new moon brings: the freshness of beginner’s mind - a blank slate that isn’t holding onto anything - alongside the wisdom of the ancient ones.

“It’s almost been twenty years that our magnolia trees have been generously giving us their leaves, flowers, and seed pods and much like The Giving Tree, our magnolia trees ask for nothing in return.”

Like The Giving Tree, THIS MOON IS A GIFT GIVER.

I don’t know what gifts exactly it will bring for you, but it’s bringing them.

You probably don’t know either.

This is a surprise! An out of nowhere HURRAH!

Check to see where this new moon falls in your chart to start to get a glimpse of how this may show up for you. You can do this by specifically looking at what house the moon is falling in and if there are any planets nearby. (Learn how to do this here.)

You can also see what this new moon may bring by reflecting on its 2020 echo moon: September 2, 2020. Reflect on the entire period from September 1- 16, 2020. (If you haven’t already, see the full reading and channeled message about the 2020 echo here).

The new moon time spreads from approximately March 2 - March 17, but the energy keeps rippling through to the Pisces full moon on September 10th - a.k.a. THE HARVEST MOON.

What happens now plants the seeds for the major harvest we will receive this fall.

But I also suspect we’ll start seeing gifts arrive NOW. With this new moon. Then, it just KEEPS EXPANDING.

*bounty bounty bounty*

This joyous, bounteous energy is amplified and echoed by Porta Coeli (Heaven’s Gate) crossing through The Golden Gate of the Ecliptic. This is happening alongside Ceres and the asteroid Persephone. They are all conjunct with basically no space between them: Porta Coeli, Ceres, and Persephone.

In mythology, Ceres (a.k.a. Demeter) is Persephone’s mother. They were separated every year when Persephone had to take her seat as Queen of the Underworld, but then, when Persephone returned, they were reunited, and spring arrived as Ceres - goddess of the harvest - embraced her daughter.

And with this new moon, here they are - mother and daughter - reunited at Heaven’s Gate.

Bringing the arrival of spring and the showering of GOLDEN LIGHT upon the earth, resulting in the return of flowers - blooming, blooming, blooming where before there had been ice and snow.

Of course, this is only true for part of the earth, for those of us in the northern hemisphere.

In the southern hemisphere, the opposite transition is taking place within the material world. Winter is coming, but never mind these particulars, the energy is the same for us all:

REUNIFICATION, RECONNECTION, BOUNTY, & HARVEST.

The harvest message is communicated by Jupiter, Ceres, and also Saturn (God and Teacher of the Harvest).

On this new moon, Saturn, Mercury, and Hermes are all conjunct in Aquarius. The conjunction of Mercury and Hermes (the Roman and Greek names for the same god) amplifies the power of this god - the MESSENGER god and also the god whose name evokes stories of alchemy, transmutation, and the discovery of the philosopher’s stone - a.k.a. enlightenment.

This moon marks a powerful time for RECEIVING MESSAGES. BIG MESSAGES. Spiritual messages and tangible earthly messages.

Psychic abilities and magic in general is heightened.

The conjunction of Mars, Venus, Vesta, and Pluto in Capricorn increases the probability that what is received in the spiritual becomes manifest in the earthly.

For now, we fly!

We rise up - like Persephone from the underworld and like Psyche - transcending from mortality to godliness. Because of this GREAT TRANSFORMATION, the asteroid Psyche is often colloquially called “the butterfly” in astrology, and in the world of science, people have discussed the possibility of mining the literal, physical asteroid Psyche because of all of the precious gems and minerals and gold she possesses.

She has a treasure inside her. When she’s able to access it, she transforms.

THIS NEW MOON IS ABOUT TREASURE MADE REAL.

What was silenced is spoken.

What was withheld is granted.

What is meant to be simply is.

Now, we fly!

The new moon is exactly opposite the asteroid Psyche in Virgo. Psyche is currently retrograde but goes direct on April 27, 2022.

The new moon is also opposite the asteroid Fortuna (as in fortune). Fortuna is currently retrograde but goes direct on April 12, 2022.

What happens now is just the beginning.

As these asteroids go direct in April, we prepare to enter the first full eclipse season of the Taurus/Scorpio cycle.

We move through the eclipses.

We rally through the extremes - the summer or winter.

And we open our hearts and hands for the sweet arrival of September.

For the return of ancient wisdom that’s no longer hidden but is now, sprouting from the core of the earth.

You are ancient.

You are brand new.

You are everything and nothing.

You are this right now.

This moment here.

Close your eyes and breathe.

Let it all in.

Let it all inside.

Let it cover your being and spread through you.

When you are ready, o p e n w i d e.

Long story short:

This moon is about A GREAT TRANSCENDENCE. An incredible gift. The bestowing of so many gifts - starting now and coming even more so in the future. But now, past and present collapse. Timelines intersect. You become like the magnolia flower: ancient and new. This is just the beginning. This is just the beginning. This is just the beginning. Harvest is coming soon.

Little note about the message for March: I did not reread the year-ahead for March until after channeling this new moon note. All the overlapping language and messages are completely unconscious/not manipulated by me in order to match. They match because…they match. Because Spirit is telling us the same things for the same period of time. Also, since I didn’t read until after, I had completely forgotten about that message about Artemis…but no worries…because the big magic around her is coming with the full moon. Stay tuned.
