A new moon to start the new year.
The Capricorn new moon arrives at 13:33 PM EST on 1/2/2022, and I’m writing this note to you from the past, from December 17, 2021. The day of the ancient festival of Saturnalia - a buoyant time of celebration, honoring the god Saturn’s golden age.
I didn’t plan to write this note on this day of all days, but this morning, the morning of December 17th, I woke with the note streaming through my mind, and I heard now.
NOW.
December 17th…the same day that kickstarted the opening of the golden door in 2020. The vision I had then: of a golden door with the number 17 on it opening wide to release a big golden light. Then, seven months later, I saw a literal, physical golden door marked 17 and moments later, my now home was listed for sale. And then, just a few days ago (on December 15th), at the end of 2021, I had another vision. I saw not one but two doors - like french doors - open wide, and I saw a powerful golden light radiating out from the doorway, and I saw myself just standing at the doors, standing at the threshold, facing the light and receiving all of it. That was the end of 2021. This is the beginning of 2022.
Both doors are open, the golden light is moving through, and we are ready to receive.
How can we trust all of this? All of the messages that have been so consistently pouring in for nearly two years that tell me: all of the collective hardship from COVID-19 is connected to a big ethereal, spiritual shift. Maybe we struggle to trust. That’s okay. It’s okay to doubt. I have my moments of doubt too, but still, I’m going to be over here, continuing to share the messages I keep getting because I keep getting them, and the big test of faith that arrived at the end of 2021 and that’s still with us at the start of 2022 asks us to TRUST.
The end of 2021 delivered A TEST OF FAITH. The asteroid meaning faith was literally exactly conjunct the sun at the center of the galaxy on the full moon that wrapped up the year.
So many messages came through at the end - big long stories - that wanted to be shared with you, and I shared them in the last few astro notes and in the Venus retrograde reading and the Mercury retrograde reading and The Golden Gate reflection and the Year Ahead Reading, and most of the information you need now is already in all of those - especially in the 2022 year ahead reading - but still, there’s a piece that’s missing. There’s this: a story, about the roses blooming above and beyond the surface of the earth.

Two days ago, I noticed that I had all of these split ends, so I decided to make a hair appointment at a newly reopened salon called Changes. I hopped on Instagram to see if any stylist in particular jumped out at me, and the moment I opened the salon’s feed, I was drawn towards a single picture six images deep. I clicked on the picture and laughed when I saw that it was a post wishing one of the stylists a happy birthday on my birthday. I went ahead and made an appointment with her on her next available date - January 8th - and as I added the appointment to my calendar, I noticed a special notation on the next day - January 9th. It read: FOURTH PETAL VENUS.
I’d made the note so long ago that I didn’t even remember what it meant, so I googled - fourth petal of Venus - and I was reminded that from Earth, Venus traces the path of a flower.
Over the course of eight years, the position of Venus (as seen from Earth) moves and seems to form the shape of a flower (also known as the pentagram of Venus), and at the start of this year, Venus will have finished tracing the outline for the fourth petal (of five).
On January 9th, the fourth petal of Venus is complete.
And specifically, the flower of Venus has been described as: a lovely five-petalled rose.
Five petals, just like the wild rose known as the Virginia rose that I was guided to learn about on August 27, 2020.
This wild rose, the Virginia rose - I realized then - was the flower that was engraved all over the surface of the golden pocket watch that once belonged to my great-great grandmother Cora. I realized this on August 27, 2020, the very same day that Cora came to me and delivered a message about a line of women - keepers of magic on Earth - and their connection to the rose. She delivered this message on the very day of the Portal of Destiny. I was guided to see this portal and to name it in July 2020, and I wrote about it extensively again in December 2021, with the Sagittarius new moon eclipse, for this portal marked a pivotal moment in the Gemini/Sagittarius karmic cycle that we have been in since May 5, 2020.
And oddly enough, for the May 2020 issue of The Magic Guide - back when The Magic Guide lived as monthly issues - I included three pictures of roses to mark various sections of the publication. This was the first time I ever used roses in a big way, and at the time, I had no idea why I did this. It just felt right. The word “rose” wasn’t mentioned even once in the entire issue, but still, I chose the roses. And the healing ritual for that issue? It just happened to be 17 minutes and 7 seconds…this was one month before I was guided to Area 17 in the brain and started seeing 17s everywhere…
The reality is that most of the time when I’m channeling, all sorts of information is coming through in subtle ways, and I often don’t become aware of its significance until much later, until the patterns have well established themselves and I’ve grown to understand their meaning.
This has been true for the rose.
The rose first appeared in The Magic Guide in May 2020 - through a series of stock photos. Then…as the Gemini/Sagittarius cycle progressed (especially following The Portal of Destiny on August 27, 2020), the roses just showed up more and more, and here we are now - in the final days of the Gemini/Sagittarius cycle - and I am being guided to see VENUS and THE ROSE IN THE SKY.

I didn’t know about Venus and the rose pattern (in any conscious way) when I had a vision in August 2021 about A ROSE BLOOMING ABOVE THE EARTH.
I didn’t know about Venus and the rose pattern when I sat to channel the astro notes in December and received the strong message that the rose was BLOOMING NOW - above the earth, at the end of 2021.
I didn’t know. I didn’t know. But I knew.
And I said that I thought the blooming was actually going to fully happen with the Gemini full moon from December 18th to now. And in the note for that moon, I channeled that it was VENUS BRINGING THE LIGHT.
And now…here I am, after all of that, and some split ends have guided me to remember the rose of Venus and that the fourth petal is now FULLY BLOOMING.
Now, at the start of 2022 - on January 9th - the FOURTH PETAL WILL BE COMPLETE.
This means that during the December moons (when I felt strongly that this ethereal/metaphorical rose was blooming above the earth and I kept seeing it in my mind) Venus was quite literally tracing the fourth petal above the earth. The rose of Venus was BLOOMING.

The first petal formed on March 25, 2017.
The second on October 26, 2018.
Then, it was over a year before the next petal.
The third formed on June 3, 2020 - right at the start of the Gemini/Sagittarius cycle.
The first Sagittarius eclipse happened just 2 days after the completion of the third petal…then, it wasn’t until now - AT THE END OF THE CYCLE - that the fourth petal is finally finishing. The Gemini/Sagittarius cycle has in many ways been about THE BLOOMING OF THE FOURTH PETAL.
We are in the final days of the Gemini/Sagittarius karmic cycle now. The eclipses from this cycle were completed in December, and now, the fourth petal is being marked - with this Capricorn new moon.
The Capricorn new moon time stretches from January 2 - 16th.
A Cancer full moon arrives on January 17th, and then, on the 19th, the karmic nodes change signs. We officially end the Gemini/Sagittarius cycle that we’ve been in since May 5, 2020, and we enter the Taurus/Scorpio cycle.
The Taurus/Scorpio cycle goes through 2023…and the fifth petal? The FIFTH PETAL BLOOMS on August 13, 2023. 2023…the same year I keep writing about because SO MANY MAJOR EVENTS AND CYCLES are lining up to complete in 2023. And this, it turns out…is another one.
THE FINAL BLOOMING OF THE ROSE. THE LAST PETAL.
What I shared in March 2021:
“Once the last rose petal is released then the universal symbols are received and remembered - it is then and only then that the Sister will go on to do her true work.” (source)
Since 2016, we have been in an eight year cycle of AWAKENING that has reshaped our lives and ultimately reshaped our work. IT IS STILL TAKING SHAPE. That doesn’t mean that you stop until it’s fully formed. You keep going and trusting and knowing (with patience) that it is all unfolding in perfect timing, and your work (your life’s work, your spiritual work, your actual career-focused work) will take its truest shape when its time to take that shape. When the last rose petal is released in 2023.
This year? 2022? THIS IS THE START OF THE TRACING OF THE FINAL PETAL. This year, we embark on creating our truest shape.

The Capricorn new moon falls at 12 degrees Capricorn. It falls just 10 degrees from the planet Venus (which will be at at 22 degrees Capricorn on the new moon), but during the next few days, the sun and Venus (as seen from Earth) will move closer and closer to each other, until on January 8th, the sun and Venus will be at the exact same degree. All the light coalescing.
And the next day, on January 9th, the fourth petal of Venus will be complete.

This morning, the morning of December 17th, I heard on the news that it’s predicted that by January 8th, we would see 15,000 deaths a week from Covid-19 (in America).
January 8th. Again.
I find the synchronicity around the latest Omicron wave to be telling.
First, I had the dream in November that told me there would be one more day of peace before the explosion, and then, one day later, the first cases of Omicron were found outside South Africa and everyone was suddenly worried about the new variant, but in my dream - the explosion was a revelation of bright light, an opening of a gate in Heaven, sending it’s light to Earth.
Then, there was a big spike in cases and changes in NYC that grabbed everyone’s attention…the long lines of people waiting for tests, etc. - this news broke in a big way on December 16th - the very day that Mars perfectly conjuncted the south node, a transit that is all about FLASHING BACK TO THE PAST. And I read so many quotes that day from New Yorkers saying that they felt like it was spring 2020 all over again. They were flashing back in their minds. But we aren’t where we were in spring 2020. Vaccinations and boosters and antiviral therapeutics almost completely eliminate the risk of severe illness for most people, and the new strain of the virus itself is even thought to produce milder cases (even though it is more contagious). Time will tell the true consequences of the Omicron wave, but I still hold that it is a consequence of the explosion of light, that despite the temporary increase in cases and even deaths, that there is light in this, leading us to what is coming in March (see the 2022 year ahead reading).
So…I had a dream, which told me about the explosion before I’d ever even heard of the existence of a new strain, and then there was the connection of the south node transit to the arrival of the Omicron wave in NYC, and now, there’s the date (January 8th) for when a big increase in deaths is predicted. January 8th…aligning with the completion of the fourth petal…
I just…don’t think these things mean nothing. I think they mean something.
I trust the messages AND I trust the science.
We do what we need to do to care for our bodies on Earth with the tangible information we have available to us all the while knowing that these bodies are experiencing a REVELATION OF LIGHT as our material reality shifts to make way for MORE LIGHT ON EARTH.
And THAT is what this Capricorn new moon brings - just as the last few moons have brought - MORE LIGHT, MORE LIGHT - with the blooming of the rose of Venus.

The morning I made the hair appointment and was reminded of the fourth petal of Venus, I was sitting in bed and thinking about all of the roses in space - the rose created by the movement of Venus & the rose formed at the north pole of the planet Saturn - and just as I was thinking about these cosmic roses - literally in the exact same moment - the image of ROSES appeared on the TV screen in front of me. A beautiful bush of pale pink roses and then a single rose, held in a mother’s hand. She extended it towards her young son - oh my goodness, smell it! smell it! - and he breathed in its scent and threw back his head in an exclamation of joy.
Venus and Saturn are bringing the light from now through 2023. 2023, when Venus completes the fifth petal and when Saturn completes its transit through Aquarius.
A transit that started on December 17, 2020. The very day I had the vision of a golden door opening. And it was also around that time - a few days later - that I suddenly saw a fiery hexagram (a hexagon in the middle) at the center of my chest, and in time, the vision of the fiery hexagram became a rose, and it wasn’t until many, many months later that I stumbled upon a video of a storm on the planet Saturn. The video shows a hurricane spinning in the shape of a hexagon at Saturn’s north pole, and as I watched, I noticed two words typed above the video and tucked into the URL but not actually spoken or written anywhere in the video itself. Someone at NASA - whoever posted this video - named Saturn’s storm. They named it: The Rose.
I am writing this note on December 17th…the start of Saturnalia, honoring the god Saturn’s golden age of harmony and bliss for all.
And on the Capricorn new moon, as Venus finishes drawing the fourth petal, the asteroids Virginia and Rosa conjunct, calling to mind - yet again - the image of the five-petalled Virginia Rose.
The idea of the wild rose is rippling throughout the collective unconscious and within the cosmic dance.
Smell it! Smell it!
It smells like joy.
The asteroid Jubilatrix (as in a jubilee, a celebration) conjuncts Chiron.
As I write this at the end of December, plenty of the world seems to be spinning into a panic, but I contend: THIS WILL BE A TIME OF JOY. Of healing and joy.
2022 brings a whole new kind of expansion. Jupiter is now in Pisces. Check your chart to see what area of your life (what house) is ruled by Pisces. Wherever Pisces is, this is the area you will be experiencing major blessings this year. Reflect back to May 14 - July 28, 2021. Something shifted then in order to lay the groundwork for this expansion now in 2022. That period was your sneak peak.
Get ready. These early days are just the beginning.

Days pass - it’s December 28th now - and on December 23rd, I opened my email to see these words in a National Geographic newsletter:
"Hopefully, everyone’s patience will be rewarded, though, and 2022 will be the start of a new golden age for cosmic discovery.” - Victoria Jaggard, National Geographic
Victoria wrote these words about the new Webb Space Telescope that has been decades in the making. On Christmas morning, the telescope was successfully launched into space on the Ariane 5 rocket, flight number: VA256.
The flight number jumped out at me because VA is the abbreviation for the state of Virginia, where I was at the time of the launch, and also, because my name is Virginia, and I’ve been signing my name with the abbreviation VA for most of my life. But not only did VA stand out, 256 was also meaningful, for 256 is the very same number that I was guided to look up on the Taurus new moon in May (more on this in a moment).
Why was this the flight number? I learned that V stands for “vol” - french for flight - and A is for Ariane. And the number? It’s simply sequential…the Ariane 5 rocket had had 255 flights before this one…but it just so happens that the flight that sent the Webb Telescope into space was flight 256. The telescope was meant to be launched years ago. In fact, there have been many times - many different flights - when they thought it would launch, but it didn’t. The flight was delayed again and again…resulting in its launch (of all days and of all flights) on Christmas morning, 2021, flight VA256.
This is not a coincidence, I knew. This means something.
In May, I felt the presence of a young girl next to my bed. I saw her in my mind. She handed me a silver key. This story is long and has unfolded through many of these notes, but what’s important to know now is that this experience led me to learn about the idea of the Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven, and then, I had another vision - in November - of the silver key, opening a gate in heaven…a gate above the earth…a gate that sent a great explosion of light to Earth…
The day I was handed the key in May just happened to be the same day that all of my furniture arrived on a moving truck to my new home in Ohio. All of it was marked with numbered yellow stickers, but I was only guided to look up the corresponding asteroid for one of those stickers. Of the hundreds of stickers on boxes and furniture, I heard the clear message to look up the number on the sticker that was stuck to my great-great grandmother Cora’s antique wooden chair. Yes, the same Cora who came to me in a vision on August 27, 2020. The same Cora whose gold pocket watch is covered in wild Virginia roses. The number on the yellow sticker on her old chair just happened to be: 256.
I’d never looked up asteroid 256 before, so I had no idea what the asteroid was or for whom it was named. Then, I looked it up, and I learned that asteroid 256 is named Walpurga, after a female saint who’s known for a number of miracles, including a miracle on a ship wherein she is said to have safely guided a ship through a terrible storm.
On December 25, 2021, the Webb telescope was launched on a rocket ship, launched into space. Astronomers waited anxiously to see if the launch would succeed but knew that this was also just the beginning. After launch, the telescope is designed to unfold - to bloom like a flower. Over the next 29 days, it is blooming as it makes it way out to Lagrange Point 2, where it will orbit, collecting data, for the next 5-10 years.
The telescope has literally been described by NASA as a spring flower in full bloom, and in article after article, its unfolding after the launch has been described as a flower blooming. Along with the planet Venus and the storm at Saturn’s north pole, the Webb Space Telescope is the third cosmic rose - made of 18 gold hexagons - that is blooming above the earth in this month of January.
And Walpurga? On the very day of the Capricorn new moon, the asteroid Walpurga will be in the exact spot that Saturn was when I was born, and the planet Saturn will be in the exact spot that the asteroid Walpurga was when I was born. In other words, Walpurga is conjunct my Saturn, and Saturn is conjunct my Walpurga. And Walpurga is conjunct Mars for all of us. In fact, on December 16th, the day of the big spike in Covid cases in NYC…Walpurga was EXACTLY conjunct (in the exact same place as) both Mars and the south node…
The sister is steering us through the storm of the blooming of the rose above the earth.
And this telescope? It has been described as offering us a keyhole into the earlier moments of our universe. (NY Times)
It is the most powerful telescope that’s ever been launched - far more powerful than the Hubble Telescope.
Here’s this telescope - this earthly thing - designed to help us RECEIVE ALL THE LIGHT, especially THE LIGHT WE CANNOT SEE. To help us reach back in time, to the origins of our universe, to the FIRST LIGHT.
This telescope, if all goes well, is going to help us SEE.
In 2022 and into 2023 and beyond, it’s going to help us KNOW.
In November, a silver key opened a gate in Heaven, sending an explosion of golden light to Earth that we are receiving - we are ready to receive - NOW.
This telescope (which is literally made of gold) is designed to RECEIVE LIGHT. It was launched in the energy of the Gemini full moon…the very moon that I said marked the opening of the gates on Earth with a golden key - the gates to RECEIVE THE EXPLOSION OF LIGHT that was released with the turning of the silver key.
For there are two keys, two doors, and here, at the start of 2022, both doors are open wide, and the golden light is moving through.
Hopefully, everyone’s patience will be rewarded, and 2022 will be the start of a new golden age.

Long story short:
This new moon marks the start of a new year and the completion of a huge growth period for all of us. THE FOURTH PETAL HAS BLOOMED, and now, we get to enjoy it and feel it. We get to let it in. There’s more growth to come. This year is building in a big way to 2023, but for now, enjoy the beginning. Breathe through any fear. Close your eyes and tune into the image of a rose blooming at your chest - a rose BLOOMING ABOVE THE EARTH - and remember that life’s too short to live like that - in all that fear. So LET YOURSELF FEEL SOME JOY. CELEBRATE.
