Whee!!!
Suddenly, spontaneously - around 5 PM on August 5th - I found myself pulling up a blank page to write this note, and the moment I started to type - Aquarius full moon, August 11, 2022 - I just heard: WHEEEEEE!!!!!
And I felt:
So much fun! So much excitement! So much BOUNTY! Just joy joy joy joy. So much joy I can’t even be bothered with commas - joy!
And I heard:
This is a time of tremendous alchemy producing cataclysmic results.
That’s what I heard - very specifically - “tremendous alchemy producing cataclysmic results.” And as I heard it, I knew it held a secret. It held some meaning I was unaware of because the word “cataclysmic” - as I know it - implies something destructive and violent, but that’s not what I felt. What I felt was JOY. What I was feeling was that THIS IS A BLESSING. These cataclysmic results.
And so I wondered: What’s the origin of “cataclysmic”? What does it really mean?
And this is what I learned.
Cataclysmic comes from the Greek kataklysmos. Broken into pieces, this means, “down” and “to wash.” Essentially, in the beginning of the word’s usage, cataclysm just meant “flood” or “downpour of water.” The negative connotations for this watery word evolved from the story of Noah’s Ark in The Bible and the even older, nearly identical story in Greek mythology about a great flood Zeus unleashed on the earth. And apparently, this whole “God sends a flood to rid the earth of all its corruption, wash it clean, and start from scratch” story has been remaking itself again and again throughout various cultures from at least as early as Ancient Babylonia.
While’s there’s no physical evidence that there was ever a global flood affecting the entire Earth, there are these stories, told again and again by different people praying to different conceptions of God all around the same general geographic region of Earth.
This region happens to surround the Black Sea, and there is a theory that at some point in history, there was a localized flood caused by rising waters in the Black Sea, and maybe - just maybe - all these stories were inspired by whatever happened there.
I did some cursory research into this theory, and turns out, there is physical evidence to support it.
According to a team of scientists from MIT, the Black Sea used to be a lake. Then, about 7,000 years ago, a rush of water (200 times the volume of Niagara Falls) flooded into the lake from the Mediterranean Sea. At the time, people were living on the lake, and when the flood came, it destroyed their home. This was confirmed when scientists found a drowned human settlement under the Black Sea.
Of course, finding a settlement and proving the existence of an ancient flood doesn’t prove the validity of any of these stories. At best, it says that there was a flood. People were affected, and the people who lived in the area for thousands of years to come just so happened to keep telling a story about a flood. That story may have been inspired by this flood, and if it was, perhaps the story was simply people’s way of making sense of such a tragedy. Or perhaps it was something more.
Regardless of whether any aspect of the stories are rooted in truth, I find the fact that I just happened to intuitively hear the word “cataclysmic” and just happened to be guided to this history at this particular moment in time incredibly fascinating because…the Black Sea also came up in the last astro note!

I don’t think I’ve ever written or even really thought much about the Black Sea before in my life, but now, with this moon cycle - Leo new moon to Aquarius full moon - I’ve received back-to-back messages about the Black Sea.
The Black Sea came up in the new moon note because it was there - in its waters, in February - that Russia blocked the path of Ukrainian grain. And it was there, at the start of this month - during the Leo new moon time - that a path was finally cleared, and through the waters of the Black Sea, the Ukrainian grain harvest finally started making its way to the rest of the world.
As discussed in the last note, the chronology of the Ukrainian grain shipments (from blockade to shipment) is directly synchronized with a very real and measurable cycle involving an asteroid named Karma. This cycle - according to the intuitive messages that have accompanied it - has been propelling us past our past. It’s been helping to cleanse us of the past as we release whatever it is that we’ve been carrying that we no longer need to hold.
And this whole Karma cycle started with the Aquarius new moon in February, and that new moon initiated a six month cycle that is culminating now during this Aquarius full moon time (from August 11 - 26th).
Somehow, this is all connected: the waters, the sea, the karmic cleansing, the harvest being shipped.
First, it is shipped.
And then, it arrives.
And as I was reading about all of this, I just kept seeing the image in my mind of a powerful waterfall. Not a rainstorm or a wave. A waterfall. The kind you’d stumble upon unexpectedly after a long, grueling hike through a beautiful, mysterious land. You’d stumble upon it, and SIGH. FINALLY, water! A deep breath now. You strip off all your clothes and hop in and wash away all the dirt from your travels, and as the dirt leaves your skin and hair, you feel as if the weight of something even greater has been lifted, and you gently swim out into the glistening lake where the water falls, and as you look back on this great downpour of water, you see: a rainbow in the mist. A big, beautiful rainbow.
The moon isn’t some scary, violent cleansing. It’s more like a christening, a baptism, a deliverance into A BRIGHT NEW FALL.
In fact, the “cataclysm” already happened. (Oddly - or maybe not - there were at least two major, floods during the Leo new moon time…one in Kentucky and the other in California.)
This moon isn’t about the cataclysm. It’s about THE RESULTS. It’s about what happened after the flood came and Noah hid in the ark and the rain stopped and he stepped outside and saw a rainbow in the sky.

On February 5, 2022 - four days after the Aquarius new moon - I woke in the morning to see LIGHT IN THE SKY. Light unlike anything I’d ever seen before. It was coming from the sun - literally - but also, maybe, it was coming from something else.
It looked like A GOLDEN BEACON shooting up from the earth.
It looked like A GOLDEN DIAMOND - AN OPENING OF GOLDEN LIGHT - in the sky.
It looked like A BURNING TREE.
It just happened to be happening after I’d written - in the Aquarius new moon note - that “This [time] initiates a peak moment in the creation of a new earth as our collective destiny is infused with Heaven’s Light. We will feel this throughout the new moon time and especially around the 6th and 7th.”
And here I was - on February 5th - seeing THIS BRIGHT GOLDEN LIGHT.
It matched visions I’d been having for the last eleven months.
Visions of golden beacons shooting up from the earth.
And it matched the astronomical alignment of the destiny point and an asteroid that literally translates to mean “Gateway to Heaven.”
I had no idea this asteroid even existed. Not until January when I was magically, intuitively guided to learn of its existence, and it was only then that I saw it had been at a significant point in my birth chart with ever major vision I’ve ever had involving the notion of Heaven.
What is Heaven? I don’t pretend to know the answer to that. I’m skeptical of its descriptions throughout mythology and human conversation. I often like to simply chalk it up to a state of mind or a state of being, but if I just shut my ego up for a second, this is what I hear:
Heaven is glorious. Heaven is glory. It’s the glory found in your heart and inside every moment. It’s the glory found after death and in between. It’s the glory you possess just by being. It’s the glory of GOD.
*I hear laughter - from the choir of voices speaking - I hear laughter because they know I get freaked out about talking too much about God, but “God” is what I hear, and then I hear…*
Heaven is…your home. Heaven is home. Heaven is home.
Okay,
so,
I was off a day in my prediction.
I saw the light on the 5th instead of the 6th.
A light so bright that even my incredibly skeptical husband was awestruck.
A light so bright it held the power to break through your mind’s defenses and touch something wordless and true inside you.
A light so bright - shining like a beacon - calling us home.
Home to ourselves.
Home to our glory.
Home to…our home.

The Aquarius full moon is conjunct the planet Saturn. In traditional astrology, Saturn is mostly associated with challenging us and creating difficulties, but…here at The Magic Guide (while I acknowledge that Saturn can often hit our bodies hard and call us to rest and/or seek medical support), mostly, I think of Saturn at his greatest. I see him in all his glory as GOD OF THE GOLDEN AGE. Because in Ancient Rome, that’s what he was.
He was a harvest God, and he was thought to reign over a period when people stopped fighting and found peaceful coexistence. Any challenges Saturn brings help acclimate or push us towards a more golden experience, and given the BRIGHT GOLDEN LIGHT of the new moon, I especially see this full moon conjunction with Saturn as a major blessing, the arrival of a new golden age that has been calling to us now for years, that has been presenting itself in bits and pieces amidst even the darkest moments, and that now, is ready to HAVE SOME FUN!!!!

This full moon just feels like SO MUCH PLAY.

After I heard the word “cataclysmic,” I kept thinking about the idea of a “downpour of water,” and I wondered if there was some water asteroid I was supposed to be paying attention to with this moon.
Nothing came to mind, but then, I turned on the TV and relaxed on the couch, and at some point, my husband walked into the room, so I hit pause, and when I did, I realized I paused the show at 16:44, and I saw that it was “Season 4, Episode 4” and that it was named “The Heart of the Matter,” and I thought how 4x4=16, and I remembered that asteroid 44 has something to do with water nymphs…or something. So I entered asteroid 44, and I saw this:
The asteroid Nysa (aka asteroid #44) was in the EXACT same place as Mercury.
Nysa was named after the mountainous region in Greek mythology where the rain (aka downpour of water) nymphs lived, and it was there that they raised the god Dionysus.
So then, I wondered…where’s Dionysus? And I saw…
The asteroid Dionysus was in almost the exact same place (off by one degree) as the sun!
On the very day (August 6th) I was guided to the asteroid Nysa…Nysa was exactly conjunct Mercury…and Dionysus was conjunct the sun…and these conjunctions will still be happening (though slightly less exact) on the Aquarius full moon.
What does this mean?
Mercury represents our minds, our voices, our communication. It’s named after the messenger God…the God who delivers messages…like God coming and telling Noah to build an ark…like God coming and shining a bright big beacon calling us home. And in the days leading into the full moon, the message is of a DOWNPOUR OF WATER. A nurturing downpour. The rain nymphs didn’t just bring rain, they cared for Dionysus when no one else would. They helped raise him, and with the sun conjunct Dionysus it’s almost like we are Dionysus. Our identity is blended with his…and he was the god of many things - ecstasy, wine, and all the FUN you have when you let loose and stop caring so much about what everyone else thinks - but also, he was a god of FRUITFULNESS.
This full moon brings a continuation of FRUITFUL ABUNDANCE!
After the downpour, comes a rainbow.
That’s the story asteroids are telling us…a story that just happens to match the vision I had for this moon of the waterfall and the rainbow…for on August 6th, Nysa and Mercury were perfectly conjunct, but then, afterwards, the full moon arrives on August 11th, and by then…Mercury is no longer perfectly conjunct Nysa…instead, Mercury is conjunct the asteroid Iris…aka THE RAINBOW GODDESS.
With this full moon, Mercury’s message transitions from a DOWNPOUR OF WATER to A RAINBOW. Reflect back: how did you experience a “downpour of water” within the first eleven days of August? How was it both overwhelming and nurturing?
Now is when the storm clears and A GREAT BIG RAINBOW MESSAGE ARRIVES.
As if from out of nowhere, as if from Heaven itself.
Venus conjuncts Abundantia (aka abundance). The sun conjuncts Dionysus (fruitfulness) and Midas (turning things to gold), and the moon conjuncts Saturn (the God of the Golden Age).
The Leo new moon brought us message after message of abundance flowing…reflect back on the first two weeks of August. How did abundance show up for you? That was just the precursor, the inkling, the sneak peak of what’s arriving now during this full moon time. All of it building to even bigger and better things with Harvest Season in the fall and the culmination of the Leo new moon in early 2023.
It’s all connected and all flowing together and all working to produce A BEAUTIFUL GOLDEN LIGHT, A RAINBOW BRIDGE BETWEEN EVERYTHING.
Lie back, relax, bask in the FUN of this full moon.
Wonder whether this is all just another story, and return to your life. Then find yourself TOTALLY IN AWE when a light appears to remind you that what is true was always true, that your home has always been your home, and that all is golden in ways you simply, mistakenly forgot.

Look, look! A rainbow! It was always coming. It was always there. That playful light bridge moving between mysterious points, raising questions about where it begins and if it even has an end. This full moon is a time of JOY AND PLAY. Fun, fun, fun in the sun. The last hoorah of summer! The rejoining of things from your past, weaving themselves into your present in new and unexpected ways, bringing NEWS and CHANGE and powerful alchemy through the practice of JOY. By letting yourself just have a whole lot of fun right now, you will get what you want and then some. I’m laughing because just this morning, I was watching an old episode of Top Chef with my husband, and a competitor said something about how she wasn’t there to have fun. She was there to accomplish her goals! To which my husband replied: “No one ever accomplished their goals without having fun.” And in that moment, I thought he looked like quite the wise turtle, and I told him as much as I playfully bopped him on the head and said, YES! So go now…HAVE SOME FUN!
